      Postnatal (Mums & Bubs) Hydrotherapy

      Our heated hydrotherapy pool allows you and your baby the comfort of experiencing water in a safe, relaxed and fun group environment.

      The first 25 minutes of each class is an introduction to water for babies while assisting with gross motor development through movement and nursery rhymes. After a 20-minute break Mums return to the pool for a 45-minute aquarobics class run by a physiotherapist experienced in women’s health.

      This is an opportunity to return to exercise safely after your delivery while your baby is supervised poolside by a staff member. Stretch out and get your heart rate up with the assistance and resistance of the water.

      • Postnatal Hydrotherapy Classes

        • Subiaco Women’s Health run postnatal Mums and Bubs hydrotherapy classes which are a fantastic option for returning to exercise in a safe and supported environment alongside your little one.
        • Provided you have received clearance from your obstetric care provider at 6 weeks and your baby has had their vaccinations, you may attend these classes without a referral. Babies are eligible to attend classes up to 6 months of age.
        • We also run advanced postnatal hydrotherapy classes for mums only. This class is suited to those who have been attending the postnatal Mums and Bubs hydrotherapy classes for a while and are ready for a challenge!

        • Improves emotional wellbeing
        • Reduces anxiety and depression
        • Improves physical conditioning – builds strength and cardiovascular fitness
        • Assists with maintaining or returning to healthy postpartum weight
        • Low impact exercise -pelvic floor safe exercise
        • Destabilisation and rotational forces of the water assists with abdominal rehabilitation

        Benefits of water-based exercise for babies:

        • Helps develop gross and fine motor skills
        • Improves water confidence
